The Negatives!

So, I enrolled in an Advanced Black and White photography class this semester and boy! let me tell you! That class was intense! Even now, as we're winding down and working on our final portfolios things are still a bit hectic with the little time we have to work on it! Other than the stress it causes me I love it! I love working in the darkroom and watching my work appear right before my eyes! Though, I must say, I always choose the wrong shoes to wear in there (spending 2+ hours on your feet is a pain) and I tend to make a lot of test strips which equals more money spent on darkroom paper! Anyway! Since it's all work done in the dark room, I haven't been able to upload anything that I've done (also cause I'm too lazy to scan them all! ^.^) BUT! We had an assignment that involved us scanning a negative of a print that we already did and improve it....I kinda failed there since I forgot all of the stuff I learned in Digital Photography about photoshop! But, while I was scanning that negative, I decided to scan some others. Not too many though. If it didn't take too long I would've scanned more, but alas! I didn't. So! Here are the negatives that I did scan! [They're all from my first roll of film that I shot this semester unfortunately/unfortunately?]

Just a rock.

 Just some flowers.

Little porcelain cranes that I'm pretty sure I've uploaded before.

The same cranes, just that the one in the back is in focus and this is the one that I edited digitally.

 Front bird in focus.

 The roommate Kris!

Lucky number and also apartment number!

My little friend who has joined me on my journey back to Idaho from the tree lot. He still needs a name. Any ideas?

 Someday.

 Kris again.

 This is Christi!

Also, if you couldn't tell, they're a bit dirty and one or two are scratched....oh well...Also, since these are negative scans, none are edited...except for the one picture of the cranes :)

Dinnerrrrrrrrrrr Day 6!

I'm doing pretty good with this photo a day...well, except for day 4. But! Here's day 6! It's was Tiffani's (Britni's sister) birthday and we went to Outback! I forgot half way to take a picture of my food BEFORE eating it [cause I was so hungry I just dug in ^.^]. So here's my half eaten dinner :D

It was chicken (had cheese and, surprisingly, delicious bacon on top of it) and fries! The red stuff is ketchup!

Day 5!

So, I missed day 4 and that's cause I didn't really venture outside of my apt. It was a pretty lonely boring day. But, here's day 5! It's a picture of my make-up cause I was getting ready for church at 10am :)

Day 3!!!!!

So far I've been doing pretty good. I was at Katie's house today visiting and got to hold cute little Mallory. She eventually fell asleep on my lap. Although it looks like I'm grabbing her hand, she was actually holding on to my hand as she slept :)

I'm taking Katie's February photo challenge!

So, I was over Katie's place one day and she mentioned how I need to start updating my blog again with photos, and I told her that I would. So what better way than to post a pic a day?!?! Since I missed the first day, I'll start with the second. It's not that great sice I took it with my iPod. But, look at all the words!

Scanograms and Digital Art!

The assignments that we had to do these last two weeks were scanograms and digital paintings! So this first one was a straight scan. I bought some page protectors and painted a heart (kinda crapily) and positioned the nail polish bottle and brush as so. I then put them on the scanner in the photo lab and proceeded to scan! Of course there was some editing to do to get rid of my finger print smudges and any other random pieces of lint and stuff, but in the end, this was the product!

This one was a combination. I scanned the notebook piece of paper and the eraser. I would've scanned my hands, but I think that would've been a bit hard and uncomfortable on my part so I just took some pictures of those two things and the little piggy up at the top and then combined all of the things together! I wanted the viewer to get a sense of what it's like to be in my sociology classes....this is kinda what I do sometimes....except I can't draw anything awesome like the hand holding the heart.

These next two picture are my digital paintings. I took a picture of the apartment planet, Arwen, and then made it look like I painted it with watercolors!

Here, I tried to re-create a photo I took last semester. It's got a cooler feeling compared to the other one which was a bit warmer. I think I did a pretty good job with this one and making it look like a painting :)
